Jessica Weizenbluth provides transactional and compliance services for the firm. Her practice focuses on the representation of medical groups, physicians, IPAs, managed care companies and other health facilities in connection with their organizational and regulatory matters. Jessica’s transactional work includes counselling clients on the formation of business entities, drafting and advising on partnership and shareholder agreements, purchase and sale agreements, managed care contracts, employment and independent contractor agreements, hospital contracts, and corporate leases. Her regulatory work includes advising clients on fraud and abuse, anti-kickback and “Stark” self-referral issues, Medicare, Medicaid (Medi-Cal) and Medical Board of California issues, licensing and provider enrollment, HIPAA compliance and “Knox-Keene” compliance.
Jessica sits on the board of directors for the Heart Touch Project, and is a member of the California Society for Healthcare Attorneys and the American Health Lawyers Association. She graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School, Toronto, ON, Canada in 2012, and was awarded the Nathan Strauss Q.C. Essay Prize in Legal Ethics. She received her B.A., cum laude, in philosophy and a Certificate in Ethics from the University of Western Ontario, London, ON, Canada, in 2008, where she received the Western Scholarship of Distinction.
